HOME! I love going home to my parents house at different times throughout the year. The spring is beautiful when all of the apple trees are blossoming. The summer you can enjoy the peace and quiet of country living. The fall is crisp and the apple trees seem so vibrant with the apples "polka-dotting" the branches. But the winter....LOVE it!! After a fresh snow, you can see the trees sparkling in the sun. But the best part is seeing if you can make it up the 1/4 mile long driveway without getting stuck in the snow!
You must have forgotten the fifth season: the mud season!! Remember the challenge of getting up or down the drive when the rain changes the dirt to mud that grabs your tires and jerks you wherever it wants you to be?? Hmmm, if we didn't have two Hope grads, we could have paved that 1/4 mile challenge course!! aww, you two were worth every penny...
ReplyDeleteThere would be no challenge if the driveway were paved. What's the fun in that? At least now, we can feel the sweet taste of achievement when we successfully make it up to the house! :)
