Brendan the Birthday Boy!

Okay...so this picture is 1 1/2 years old.  This was the day that Gus met his big cousin Brendan.  Brendan turned 8 today!!  It blows my mind how quickly he has grown.  I started dating Joel when Brendan was 10 months old and immediately fell in love with this chunky little guy!  (Brendan, not Joel.)  I am constantly amazed by how sweet he is.  He ADORES his little cousin (the feeling is mutual between them!).  He is Gus' protector and I am sure he will always watch over his little cousin!  I am so proud to be his aunt!  I am such a lucky girl to have this beautiful boy in my life!!  Love you, Brendan!!

"Cars"

While visiting the new house, Gus had a great time opening and closing doors and also yelling at the "cars" on the wall in the spare bedroom.  Poor kid has no idea that the "cars" will be going bye-bye!

Celebrate & Connect

I had a training for Thirty-One led by my director, Nikki, and my recruiter, Amy.  They did such a great job and we had a wonderful time celebrating everyone's accomplishments and making new connections.

Such a Big Boy

This is the picture I received on my phone this afternoon while I was at work.  Today Joel took Gus to get his blood drawn.  Apparently the nurses said that he was one of the best behaved little ones they have seen in a while....no tears!  So proud of my little boy!!

Bop!

"Somebody" in his mismatched pj's has discovered Momma's "bop".  Anyone who knows me knows that I am a Diet Coke fanatic.  Turns out, my son wants it, too!!

Hi there!

I'm not sure when I started saying it, but I often say, "Hi there!"  I do it now without even realizing it.  So when I saw this rug at Target, I thought I might need it at our new house.  I decided I wasn't going to buy anything for the house until we were closer to moving.  So I just took a picture for now.  I think it would be fun for this rug to great our guests to our new home.  (And those who know me, know how hard it was for me NOT to buy something at Target!!)

31 Beach Bums

Getting ready for my Thirty-One training this week...I was given a mission by my Thirty-One Director.  She asked me to find some buckets to go with our beach theme for training.  Mission complete!

Monkey Butt

Every since we brought Gus home, I have called him my "monkey butt".  I love that  Carter's caters to my needs and sells pants with a monkey on the butt! 

Fun Boxes

You can see the chaos that is my living room right now.  Birthday presents for our buddy, Christopher, boxes of a Thirty-One order ready to go, boxes of the new drapes that I ordered and a box of wipes.  How many other families seem to have a random box of wipes just laying around?  I feel like we have a million of them and they just show up randomly.

Safety First

On our way to our cheer meet, my assistant coach, Tanya, accidently chose the bus seat with the booster seat in it.  The best part is that she actually fit in it!!

New Digs

Gus finally got to go today to check out his new house.  He ran around like a crazy man.  His favorite part...the stairs with the spindals.  He used them to help him up and down the stairs.  What a crazy kid!

Not Going!!

Gus was having none of it this morning.  Did not want to go to the sitter's house.  After we wrestled with him to get his coat on, he promptly climbed up in the chair ready to settle in.  Poor kid lost the battle...off to the sitter's we went.  (Kicking and screaming of course.)

Colors...

Okay....this picture does not do it justice.  (I really should use the nice camera my dad gave me and not my cell phone, but this will just have to do.)  Today we had the inspection for our home with the company that is renting out our townhouse.  We passed with flying colors....our colors however did not.  :( That means that we are going to have to paint before we move.  I kinda expected that, but it will make me sad.  Especially this room....

Cool Dude

I happend to look over and notice the mess Gus had made but then was amused by the way that he was standing and watching Imagination Movers.  I love how he was leaning on the chair but most of all, I love the position of his little feet.  Cracks me up!!

The pans are no longer safe

Now that our little man can open the cupboards, our pots and pans are no longer safe.

On the way back home, I was very tempted to stop in Howell at the outlet mall...kept telling myself, "just keep driving, just keep driving..."

I love my new dish set.  How can you not love polka dots?!?  Not only that, but the mugs are great for holding all the pens I found in the bottom of my purse.

Takes After His Mom

On our trip to Grand Rapids, I turned around to see what my son was doing....he apparently likes 3 ring binders as much as his momma!!

Garage to Storage

We had a very full garage at the townhouse. It was basically a storage unit. Now that we are preparing to move, we transported everything to the new storage unit. Feeling like we got a lot accomplished this weekend!!

Chillin' at Aunt Mir's

Gus and Brodie had a relaxing day today at Aunt Mir's house.  Notice that Gus REFUSED to put on clothes....crazy kid!!

Big Boy Ba-Ba

We officially got rid of all of the ba-bas (bottles) at our house.  It has been quite a difficult task to get rid of them.  But we are done!!!  For a long time, Gus also wouldn't use a sippy cup.  And we finally got him to use one...and only one.  The only brand he would use was the Pampers brand...and they were really hard to find for a while.  He learned how to squeeze milk out of them recently so luckily for Gus he also finally learned how to drink out of a regular sippy cup.  FINALLY!!!

It's too quiet

As I was doing dishes this morning, Gus was running around like a crazy man. All of a sudden it became really quiet which was quite alarming for me. I rushed to see what he was doing only to find him on the couch reading a book. My heart swelled....how cute was he?!?
