President Theodore Roosevelt once said, "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far."  Well, President Roosevelt never met Gus.  Gus does not have "speak softly" in his vocabulary but I have no doubt that he will go far in life....starting with the stick that Gramma and Papa use as extra security in their slider door.
