We went back to school today.  Staff had professional development.  It was fun to see everyone but it means that summer is officially over for us.

Gus-gus want a cracker?

Somebody was really proud of himself...reached the crackers and was able to reach in and grab a few.  Boy are we in trouble now if he is already figuring that out!  YIKES!

We finally arrived at the setting of Joe and Jane's wedding...a beautiful vineyard.

Flying Fish?

Today we went to Pike Place in downtown Seattle in hopes of seeing some men throwing some fish around. We were disappointed that we did not see any fish fly through the air, but we had a great time wandering around the area to see all of the wonderful things that the vendors had to offer. My purchase today?? Well, Starbucks coffee of course! How can you visit the motherland of Starbucks and not get a cup?

I know that this picture seems a little crazy, but it makes a lot of sense considering my day. My parents came to get Gus and take him back to their house for the rest of the week while we are at an out-of-town wedding. We have had a dysfunctional toilet paper holder in our half bath for far too long. While he was here, my dad replaced it with a new one...finally! I've never been so excited about toilet paper! Secondly, I ran out of Kleenex since I have been sobbing all day (1st time leaving Gus for so long). I have had to resort to using TP to dry my tears.

Details

Joel's college roommate, Joe is getting married this weekend and we could not be more excited!! We got their wedding details sent to us, I am making packing lists, and getting ready to go. We are leaving Gus with Gramma while we are gone so in addition to getting all of the details gathered, I am trying to keep my emotions gathered....I am a mess!

Backseat Blubbering

I have seen a lot of new blogs popping up.  Many of them are daily photo blogs.  One picture captured from the day with a simple explanation.  I'm still keeping stapeshouse.blogspot.com.  But we are adding this one in order to add a little more insight into our family.  Part of me feels like I should wait until tomorrow since I only took one picture today.  It is a blurry one.  And it isn't as flattering of my son, but it describes his mood most of today.  And we are not perfect, so why should our first picture on this blog be a perfect one?

Somebody is clearly not happy while riding home from Howell. Nothing seemed to make him happy...almost to the point where it was comical. Only later did we realize he was probably unhappy because he is cutting 2 teeth...poor baby!
